Spring is here, and so are the events! Get ready Rockford, because this weekend is PACKED with things to do. I don’t have the time or space to tell you about all of them, so here are some of the events that I think you should check out this weekend.

Spring ArtScene will showcase original works of art at 35 different locations around Rockford. You can head out either Friday, April 15 or Saturday, April 16. For those out there who live for cars, check out the Classics & Chrome Car Show on April 16 and 17. This show is the largest indoor car show in Northern Illinois and has been around since 2001. This year Classics and Chrome will be bigger than ever and is located in the old Menards building in Machesney Park. More than 120 vehicles will be on display, including pre and post-war classics, sports cars, muscle cars, hot-rod and custom cars, exotic and race cars, specialty cars and motorcycles. The show runs from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 16 and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 17. Tickets are $6 and can be purchased at the door, and children under 10 get in free. Need an activity for the family? Head out to Discovery Center for Kids in the Kitchen. The event is on Saturday, April 16 from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. April 16 is Healthy Kids Day in Rockford, so the Jr. League of Rockford will be at Discovery Center for this FREE event focused on healthy eating and active lifestyles for children and their families. Invent and taste healthy snacks, play games, and more. Museum admission is not included. For more information, visit www.jlrockford.org.

If you are in a partying mood, head out to Franchesco’s on Saturday night for Hullabaloo! The event features live music and entertainment, including beer sampling sponsored by LaMonica Beverages, a Fashion show sponsored by Roxy Carmichael, and Bartender Wars sponsored by Tad’s on the Rock. Plus there will be over 30 vendors showcasing the best in Rockford’s nightlife and entertainment. Admission is $5 and it goes from noon until midnight. Must be 21 and over with id. Check out all the great entertainment here.

Need some relaxation after a weekend packed with events? Head out to Indulge by Rockford Woman on Sunday, April 17. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Franchesco’s Ristorante, 7128 Spring Creek Road, Rockford. The cost is $10 at the door or $7 in advance. What a great weekend to be in Rockford! There really is something for everyone, so go enjoy it! And if you need just a little more fun, head out to Swilligan’s on Thursday, April 21 for IGNITE’s After 5. It’s a great way to network and meet other young professionals in a relaxed setting. It starts at 5:30 and both members and non-members are invited!

Have fun, stay safe, and if you check out one of these events, let us know in the comments section below!
