Shaken, not stirred

Thursday night I attended one of my favorite events in Rockford, Mosaic by Moonlight. The event raises funds for Mosaic, a local non-profit that serves adults with developmental disabilities. Now you may be wondering why a fundraising event is one of my favorite events of the year. The answer is simple: martinis!

The event hosts fifteen local restaurants that showcase their signature martinis and appetizers. You get to spend the evening going to each table, sampling delicious martinis and appetizers, then vote for your favorite. Once you find your favorite (or favorites), you keep visiting the table. Or as I heard many people say last night, take a second and third lap! Those preparing the delicious drinks were some great local restaurants like Olive, Hope and Anchor, and Kryptonite, along with some national chains like Old Chicago and Hooters. The Dean Moriarty Jazz band provided the entertainment for the night and created a great atmosphere.

The event is a great time and the martinis are always delicious, so next year make sure you check it out. Whether you come with your significant other, a group of friends, or just want to find the best martini in town, you won’t be disappointed.
